Mt. Hood Race Team & Academy

Club Team

Club Team

Our Club Team is designed for U14, U16 & U19 athletes who aspire to race in PNSA divisional series races such as The Evergreen Cup, Northwest Cup and/or regional FIS events.

This program is a stepping stone to the Academy Team. There is a 3 day per week commitment level. with training available all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday including a Friday evening session for the days when an athlete can't make the day session on Friday.

This 3-days in a row schedule allows athletes to commit to school with minimal impact on missed school days and provides an appropriate volume of on-snow training to ensure that athletes are prepared with the skills they need to compete their best in their selected race series. When appropriate, from an athletic development standpoint, the training progression of the Club Team may merge with the Academy Team, though will be determined on a case by case basis.

Program Highlights:

  • Invitation to attend MHRTA Fall Training Camp in Sun Peaks, British Columbia, Canada (Club Team athletes are strongly encouraged to begin the winter season on same progressions as Academy Team athletes)
  • TEN full days of Holiday Training - December 19-23 and 27-31
  • National Holidays - Jan. 15, Feb. 19
  • Spring training - March 27- Apr. 1
  • Limited Team Numbers to create optimal ATHLETE to COACH ratios (6:1)
  • An opportunity to pace with Academy Team athletes
